102C – Basics of Computerized Sewing Machines

You have a new sewing machine … now what? At A-Best, we want to set you up for success in caring for your new purchase. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or an experienced sewist, A-Best’s 102C course will help you get your machine set up and running.

In this first instructional class, you will learn how to setup your sewing machine, perform at-home routine maintenance and execute basic stitches. Instructor Carol Brooks will walk you through hands-on instruction and help your get familiar with your new sewing machine.

This is a Machine Specific course for the following machines:

  • Janome 780 DC
  • Janome 740 DC
  • Necchi EX30
  • Baby Lock Jubilant
  • Brother NS80e

In Basics 102C you will learn:

  • How to use your navigation panel to set stitches
  • How to adjust straight stitch for basting, gathering and altering needle position
  • How to alter zig zag stitch for satin stitch, over casting and overedge
  • Blind hem stitching and top stitching
  • Buttons and buttonholes
  • Sewing on a zipper
  • Sewing decorative stitches
