Once you’ve completed the Setup & Maintenance class, Sewing Machine Basics w/Computer Navigation will help you get familiar with the basics you need to begin sewing, including how to find and set your stitches using your computerized navigation panel.

This class is designed for sewists who have purchased, or upgraded to, a computerized sewing machine with multi-step settings for stitch designs. In this class you will learn how to set your machine’s computer panel and sew the various stitches your machine has to offer. We’ll also demonstrate basics like buttonholes, buttons, zippers and using stabilizer.

This class is designed for sewists who have purchased a computerized or combo embroidery machine. See Sewing Machine Basics for mechanical or lightly computerized machines in course 102M.

This is a 2-hour course, and the cost is $79 plus tax. If you have A-Best instructional education vouchers, you may apply your voucher to this course.

In Basics 102C, you will learn:

  • How to use your navigation panel to set stiches
  • How to adjust straight stitch for basting, gathering and altering needle position
  • How to alter zig zag stitch for satin stitch, overcasting and overedge
  • Blind hem stitching and top stitching
  • Buttons and buttonholes
  • Sewing on a zipper
  • Sewing decorative stitches
