For Mechanical or Lightly Computerized

Once you’ve completed the Setup & Maintenance class, Sewing Machine Basics will help you get familiar with the basics you need to begin sewing.

In this class you will learn how to start sewing on your new machine. One of our experienced sewist educators will lead you through hands-on practice. We’ll demonstrate straight stitch and zig zag adjustments, buttonholes, buttons and zippers.

This class is designed for new sewists who have purchased a mechanical or lightly computerized machine. This class is not for sewists with highly computerized sewing machines or combo sewing/embroidery machines – please see Sewing Machine Basics + Navigation, course 102C.

This is a 2-hour course, and the cost is $79 plus tax.

If you purchased our Total Titanium Tough Premium Protection Package, (TTTPPP), the cost is included. ***Terms and Conditions Apply.***

  • How to adjust straight stitch for basting, gathering and altering needle position
  • How to alter zig zag stitch for satin stitch, overcasting and overedge
  • Blind hem stitching and top stitching

  • Sewing on a zipper
